Additional Information
A new member, not experienced with stained glass, is required to take a beginner’s class. The fee for the class is $50, which covers the beginner’s class fee ($30) as well as the Annual Membership ($20).
The new member beginner’s class is for Golden Vista residents only, and it is an extremely valuable offer, as beginner’s classes at stained glass providers can cost as much as $175 for one 7-hour class.
The beginners’ class fee includes necessary instruction and at the end you will leave with a completed suncatcher and a general understanding of the copper foil method! We supply all tools and glass for the beginner’s class. The time to complete a beginner’s class is approximately 9 hours which is completed in two to three sessions depending on the instructor.
We have 2 suncatcher patterns to choose from that can be completed within the beginner’s class time frame. You can choose the pattern you like best and up to three provided glass colors for your project. There are samples of the pieces hanging in the stained-glass room.
Once a new member has completed a beginner’s class, their membership is activated, which allows the member access to the stained-glass room and the use of the club’s tools (grinders, soldering irons, glass breakers, layout boards) for additional projects the member chooses in the future.
Annual Membership for those who have experience with working with stained glass is $20. Annual Membership allows you access to the stained-glass room and the use of the club’s tools (grinders, soldering irons, glass breakers, layout boards). The annual membership fee does not include supplies such as glass, foil, flux, solder, etc.
