Sewing Club
If you love to sew and work with others who enjoy sewing, this group is perfect for you. Many members enjoy making quilts and are very knowledgeable about this age old craft. Others work on projects such as bag making, rugs and other fiber arts. We have a Gammill long arm available to trained members who can quilt up to king size quilt tops. Our charity efforts go to making quilts for children through our Sew-a-Smile program and we make well over 100 quilts each season.

Fundraisers and More
Thank you for supporting the Sewing Club Quilt Show on Saturday, March 1! Whether you helped set up or reset the room, ran sound, entered a project to display, bought an item to support us, or simply attended and enjoyed the show, we sincerely appreciate the generosity of our Golden Vista community.
Thank you to those who purchased Sew-a-Smile quilts which help fund our charity arm in supplying quilts for children in need. Many thanks to Vista Voices for coordinating their fundraiser with ours – they provided a very tasty BBQ lunch with delicious pie enjoyed by so many of our guests at the Quilt Show! We received many wonderful comments regarding the display of creativity and uniqueness of each crafted item. Many who attended left with a door prize, bake sale goodies, fabric, or a free decorative pin; everyone enjoyed a good time! The winner of the raffle quilt sewn and quilted by the Club was GV resident, Jolene Pooley.
Lastly, thank you for supporting our Veterans Quilt Presentation on Monday, March 3. Commander Joe Litzinger led the presentation with Sewing Club Committee Members who made quilts to honor our veterans. We each awarded Greg Peterson, Leonard Holmes, and Doug Hall (American veterans) a Quilt of Honor, along with Jacques Campbell (Canadian veteran) who received a Quilt of Merit. Kathy Meyers then spoke on behalf of the Veterans Club to recognize Commander Joe Litzinger for his daily volunteer contributions to Golden Vista clubs and activities. We presented Joe with a stained-glass piece by Michael Myers. We thank all active military and veterans for your service!
