Golden Vista's Weekly Newsletter

Published on January 06, 2024

Hello, Golden Vista!

Happy New Year, Golden Vista! We are excited to kick off 2025 with you here, in beautiful Apache Junction. We have a lot of important topics to cover this week. If you work up an appetite remember there are a couple of BBQs this week. Wed., Jan. 8 is the Woodshop BBQ and Wed., Jan. 10 is the Veterans Hot Dog BBQ. Both run from 11-12:30 at the patio pool.

Movie Time has been canceled for the remainder of the season. We apologize and look forward to bringing this event back this summer.
All Golden Vista Hale Theatre reservations have been canceled. If you purchased tickets, please see the Activities Office.

Candidate Forum TODAY!
Join us at 9am for the Board of Directors Candidate Forum in the Ballroom. Voting begins Jan. 10.   Chit Chat will follow today’s forum. Be sure to bring your own mug. Coffee and donuts are free!

Golden Vista Telephone System Will Shut Down March 15th
After looking for a better way to replace the old telephone system at Golden Vista Resort, the Infrastructure Committee was not able to find a good replacement. At the December Board of Directors meeting, the committee suggested that the Board stop using the current phone system. The Board of Directors voted to shut it down on March 15th. Until then, you can still use whatever service your resort phone currently offers. For residents who only have a resort phone, we recommend switching to a cell phone plan. If you only need 911 service, any cell phone with a charge will connect to emergency services when you dial 911, no service is required.

How we promote Club and Group events
If your Club or Group is having an event or fundraiser, it should be on the digital Activities Calendar. Printed and Digital Newsletter information is pulled form the digital Calendar.

If you have a flyer for an event, you can update your Clubs or Groups new space on the Clubs and Groups page. Keep reading for more information.

The digital newsletter focuses on this week’s events with a Save the Dates section at the bottom including non-recurring events happening within the next 30 days.

Clubs and Groups Page

Clubs and Groups now have their own pages on the new website. The old Groups page on the Engage/Enumerate website/app will be deleted soon. Clubs get their own pages because they have boards, officers, fundraisers, and more events or updates. Groups usually don’t change often, so they’ll have drop-down sections on the new Clubs and Groups pages.

Correction to the January Newsletter: The Clubs and Groups page is under COMMUNITY PAGES in the main navigation of www.GoldenVistaResort.com.

Please use the form found at the bottom of the Clubs and Groups page under SUBMIT AN UPDATE.

Due to the printed newsletter page limitations, Monthly Club and Group reports will now be included in the individual Club and Group sections and not the printed monthly newsletter.

Club or Group Reps – Please use this form to submit your reports or updates for your Club or Group’s area. Every Thursday the Clubs and Groups sections will be updated. Please submit your entries by Tuesday. Entries made after Thursday will take 48-72 hours to update.

Please read more about the Printed Newsletter Limitations in this newsletter under Printed and Digital Newsletters.

Printed and Digital Newsletters

Please be sure to read the following points regarding the printed monthly newsletter and the weekly digital newsletter.
The last day to submit for the February Printed Newsletter is Jan. 10th. So far, we only have one February submission.

The printed newsletter has a limit of 24 pages. We can no longer go over this limit. Because of this limit, small club or event flyers will no longer be included, as they were making the newsletter too long and hard to read.

The 24-page limit doesn’t include the full-page ads at the end, which help cover printing costs and are added by the printing company.

For club announcements you want in the newsletter, there’s a new, easier process. Use this form to submit your information. If you need help, you can bring it to the Activities Office. Even if you’ve already emailed or dropped off an announcement, you’ll need to use the form each month to have it included.

The deadline to submit for the printed newsletter is the 10th of the month before. For example, to be in the February newsletter, you must submit by January 10th. No exceptions. Thank you for understanding.

Use this form to submit an event for the February Printed Newsletter.

If you submit March events for the February newsletter, you will not see those events in the February newsletter. Because of page constraints, the February newsletter will showcase only February events.

If you would like an item added to the weekly digital newsletter, please be sure it is already on the calendar. Items are pulled from the digital activities calendar found on the Activities page. Please go to the Activities Office to confirm your room rental and ask them to submit your event to the calendar.

Because Clubs and Groups have their own spaces on the new GV website, you can upload event flyers using this form. The flyers will appear on your Clubs page or your Group’s space on the Clubs and Groups page. You can direct residents to this area of the website.
